Scheduling an Appointment
Initial sessions are scheduled after gathering some brief information regarding your particular needs and situation to determine if we are the best fit. Please contact us via phone, text or email with your name, telephone number, and some best times to receive a return phone call.
During the phone call, which typically lasts 10-15 minutes, we will discuss what you'd like to work on during sessions, therapist style, insurance, and scheduling.
Referrals from physicians are welcome, but are not required to make an initial appointment.
Walk and Talk Nola is in-network with some insurance plans. All plans have different deductibles and co-payments. If you have out-of-network benefits, your insurance provider may reimburse you for a portion or all of the counseling fee. As a courtesy, we will file on your behalf, or provide you with the information you need to file for reimbursement on your own, with any insurance plans.
We will help new clients anticipate reimbursement rates from their insurance plan, but we can not guarantee specific reimbursement amounts. Rarely are amounts known until after an insurance company actually pays the benefits for a claim that is submitted a number of weeks later. For best results, please contact your insurance plan by calling the member line on the back of the card. You can ask the following questions to determine your deductible and co-payment amount.
- Am I in-network with Walk and Talk Nola/Bridget McKinney?
- What is my deductible for mental health outpatient services (in office)?
- What is my copayment or coinsurance for each session?
There are some benefits to not using insurance. There is no diagnosis needed. Insurance companies require a diagnosis be reported in order to receive reimbursement for services. This diagnosis does remain on the client’s permanent health record. Insurance companies often require some personal information about clients in order to authorize services. Service and time frame of therapy are your decision. You are not dependent on an insurance company’s decision regarding the amount and level of coverage you should receive.
Rates are $165 for Dr. McKinney and $130 for Dr. Culver. Therapeutic service fees are set by the hour and are collected by the end of each session.
